Since starting on the Medium website in May 2021, I’ve published close to 150 stories already, about a variety of topics.

It’s true that I’m a prolific writer, and at least 75 — 80% of those stories are brand new, but there are also some topics that I’ve written on before, so the material has just been repurposed.

I mention this fact, to indicate how long I’ve been writing and how serious I am about writing, but also to tell you why I do it. I write because of the power it gives me; over myself and my feelings, and over life in general.

Writing is what helped me gain self acceptance and finally be able to love myself for who I am, and not in spite of who I am.

Writing has helped me heal, that’s why I can so easily recognize the same struggle in others. My main point in writing this, is to applaud all the writers who continue sharing their stories, even when it’s hard, because I know what the outcome will ultimately be for them. Freedom and control — finally.
