Even when a message is unsolicited, I can have a little respect for it, if it has a personal element to it, and I don't simply mean calling me by my name. This is a great topic. I don't have any DM's to slip into anymore (I dropped Twitter), but I got a weird spammy message on Medium the other day. It was a bunch of gobbly goop, followed by an affiliate link. I was annoyed, but I simply deleted and blocked the user :-)
