Do You Pick Yourself Up When You Let Yourself Down?
Start treating yourself like you treat your best friend
One of the very best ways to determine just how much you’ve grown in maturity, is to recognize the importance of letting things go.
From my own experience, I know that sometimes we do things or make decisions that don’t turn out like we anticipated. When this happens, it’s not unusual to feel like you let yourself down.
But the thing to remember, is that it’s okay to let yourself down, just as long as you do whatever is necessary to pick yourself up.
For some reason, forgiving ourselves can often be a hard thing to do.
Why that is, I haven’t quite figured out, I only know that for the most part, it seems to be human nature.
Being able to accept and forgive our own imperfections, is not as easy as overlooking and forgiving the faults of those we love.
Do you find that you tend to treat yourself a lot different when you screw up, then you treat your best friend if they happen to make a mistake?
In fact, learning to take it easy on ourselves, and cut ourselves a break, can be a huge hurdle to overcome.
