Do You Value Your Freedom or Do You Take it for Granted?
Consider these reasons to start appreciating your freedom more.
--
With all the crime, violence, war, sickness, and other negative things in the world, there are a multitude of things that could literally block your freedom.
This includes the current political situation, and the continued efforts to suppress and withhold voting rights in America. The blockades to minority people’s civil liberties continue to exist.
Then of course, with the unbelievable devastation we’ve all gone through with the global pandemic, we were able to discover just how precious our freedom really is.
We’re not out of the woods yet, when it comes to the virus, with related strains like the Delta variant still being a serious concern. Needless to say, this could present yet one more threat to our freedom, if we ever have to experience another year like 2020.
Be glad when you still have your freedom
So yes, there is plenty of negative and challenging stuff going on in the world to complain and bitch about.
But to help you keep things in perspective, ask yourself: “Do I still have my freedom”.
So if you have problems in your life, no matter what they are, but you can still get up and take a walk unencumbered, be grateful.
No matter how bad things are in life, if you still have your freedom, consider yourself fortunate.
This is especially the case if you’re a young adult who is just starting out in life. Sometimes the thought of having your “whole life ahead of you” can make you take things for granted.
On the flip side, some events can cause you to feel like time is running out, so you might as well do all you possibly can now, but you end up making rash and foolish decisions.
Just like most things in life, the key is striking the right balance, between enjoying and appreciating your life, but also having the right amount of respect for life and the freedom you have, to live as you please.
Final Thoughts
This particular life lesson is one of the most important ones I’ve learned on my journey of self discovery. My advice and opinions about valuing your freedom should not be taken lightly.
Whether you’re young or old, and whatever your circumstances, if you still have the freedom wake up, go out, and live your life as you please, never take it for granted and always remember how valuable freedom really is.
