Don’t allow others to make you forget who you really are!
What do you do when other people inadvertently cause you to forget your strengths as well as your weaknesses?
You give yourself a swift kick in the ass so you can get yourself together and get back on track!
Taking control of your life requires reminding yourself of who you are and who you want to be.
Forget about constantly trying to impress other people. Like one of the smart writers on Medium once wrote, “…it’s exhausting.”

In our search to constantly find happiness and reach our objectives in life, we can’t afford to rely on how others see us.
No matter what we do or say, people tend to see whatever they want to see, at any given time.
- So stop beating yourself up, trying to be what others want or need you to be.
- Stop trying to be what you think others want or need you to be.
Take a lesson from what I shared in my story about “happiness”, where I stated:
Just like practically everything else in life, happiness is a state of mind, so it all comes down to the way you think about things.
Simply put, if you believe in yourself, it doesn’t matter how people choose to see you and your accomplishments.
Meeting your goals in life is important, but not at the risk of damaging your self worth.
What matters even more than what you manage to accomplish, is how you view yourself and who you really are.
One of the most important life lessons you can learn, is that you only have this one life, so learn to live it to the best of your own ability.
