Hey Karen, my theory is that writers write for writers because we know that we read each others work. Why do we read each other's work? Because we're all looking for ways to reach our readers (just like you're doing now). But there are 2 things to remember. 1) Writers are your readers as well, so don't mistakenly devaule them. 2) If you want to write about something other than writing, but you want readers to read it, it has to be something they NEED, and not something you think they might like. Other readers want the same thing "writers" want from you - they want you to fill some need that they have. So think about something you want to write about and figure out how to turn it into a need.
