I totally agree Bev. It's something I recently mentioned in a story about claps and followers. I honestly feel the same way about empty applauds. If you don't read the stories, why bother to blow smoke up my butt with empty claps and follows? I know what you mean. If they want to give you some empty praise, how about keeping the story's page open and going to the bathroom - at least we'd still get credit for their fake "read time". LOL
