"It may sound useless, but refusing to do it also makes reading fruitless." So very true, and yet it accounts for a large part of the population who read these books. Refusing to follow the instructions of a guide, especially a step-by-step guide, is so pointless, but even the most rational person is guilty of this (even me - sometimes).
