Here on Medium, you have a chance to write all kinds of personal essays, and even do it in a short story type of format. Besides writing entertaining and interesting personal essays, you can also create great short works of fiction.

But what should you do if you have some good ideas, but you don’t really have the short story writing skills that you need?

Simple. Take time and make time to learn and develop the skills you need.

No changes have been made to the story, and the only purpose for including this paragraph is to emphasize my original purpose for becoming a writer on Medium — which was to write fiction.
