People don’t have to be biological family to express love
When we grow up in life, it’s not unusual for most of us to take our family situations for granted.
Good, bad, or otherwise, we become accustomed to whatever family we have, and in one way or another, we learn to accept it for what it is even in the case of dysfunctional families.
It’s a known fact, that families don’t have to be biological, to have the members feel and display acts of love.
I know this from experience, coming from a broken family, and living with various friends of the family, not to mention bouncing from foster home to foster home.
As a child, I remember always having a certain affinity for elderly people, even those who weren’t necessarily related to me.
I loved the kindness and yet stern and matter-of-fact way of speaking to kids that most seniors seemed to have the ability to do, whether they knew who’s kid you were or not.
Even if I was being chastised by an elderly person, it made me feel a certain sense of belonging.
As I got older, elderly people always came off as super cool to me, mostly because they get to a point in life, where they say what the hell…
