Stop Neglecting the Value of Visiting the Eye Doctor!

If you know that you’re due for an eye exam but you haven’t bothered to make an appointment, let this be your official wake-up call and reminder to do it.

The important thing to keep in mind (especially if you’re getting up there in age like me), is that eye exams reveal more than the fact that you may need glasses, or need to have your prescription adjusted.

Of course, you don’t want to devalue the importance of glasses, and maintaining an updated prescription, but eye exams also help optometrists and ophthalmologists in other ways.

Eye exams are a good form of self care

One of the best ways to demonstrate self care, is to recognize the importance of taking care of your eyes, by following through with proper eye exams, and not simply scheduling appointments.

Your eye doctors are able to determine a lot from your regularly scheduled eye exams. Among the issues the doctors are on the look out for are glaucoma, and macular degeneration, and they can even spot early signs of heart
