who also has been needing to take it easy and take some time off recently." How kind of you to try and help someone else take a much need rest. Sorry to hear about your bugs. We had an ant problem. Ants literally brought grains of dirt into my bedroom and created themselves a little ant hill! I discovered them when I went to take a swig from my water bottle and they were all over it. I know it's been hot in sunny Cali, but damn! I can understand your needing a day off. Hell, you sound like you could have used two! :-)
