Thank you Yana. I appreciate your comments and I accept your apology on behalf of the publication, just as I mentioned. But NO. I disagree about my handling of the matter. This is clearly the type of thing that should never happen, and if it does, for whatever the reasons, writers must be aware of such situations. YES - I wrote about it, because as an editor myself, who has published other writer's stories, I work on one story at at time, giving it my undivided attention, just as I should. I can't conceive trying to juggle between two writers' content like that, but that's another issue. And I have no idea what checking for AI involves. If it means copying and pasting a writer's text, to run it through AI (if that's a thing - lol), then maybe I can understand the "glitch". And as for why someone might have done it - goes directly to the possibility of promoting affiliate links. If the link in Empress's story had been swapped out for an affiliate link to the site she described, it could have been a motive. So, as far as I'm concerned, under the circumstances, my reactions and emotions were justified, and you're no less emotional about it than I was, and that's YOUR right. By the way - I could have told everyone in the original story exactly who and your publication was, but I didn't - so there's that :-)
