Unfortunately Paul, some old timers (myself included) may have been partially responsible for newer members feeling like this is the way to go. It's not a good practice, and hard to undo, once you realize it. Who the heck feels like unfollowing or even unblocking tons of people? It's such a hassle. Please let us know if in a month or so, if you feel it helped. Maybe I'll have to sit down and try to undo years of damage. I just wish Medium didn't help make this possible by allowing us to legitimately follow more than 100 people a day. That seems to feed into this being acceptable.
