Very good point Portia. I've also wondered about this when it happens. I always shrugged it off as them being too busy, but that didn't make it any less annoying. Whenever my publications accepted stories, I always engaged with them. I first would skim the story before publishing, to make sure it met the requirements, but I didn't read it completely, until after I published it, so the reading and engagement would be organic. From that point forward, I treated the stories as if I searched them out and read them like any other stories. Thanks for addressing this :-)
