Wow, that sucks, and I agree, it sounds like retribution. Even though a little of that bad karma can be attributed to your neighborhood "playing dirty" to win, we all know that if the city had gotten a chance to get their hands dirty to win - before the citizens did - they would have done the same thing or worse. The current results are evidence of that. I feel bad for the trees :-(
