After this (third negative experience), I was forced to re-evaluate my writing ambitions on Medium. It forced me to question if I still wanted to write on the platform. I do still want to write on Medium, but to be true to myself and I want my writing to express that. I want to write with my own voice, not someone else’s. I don’t want my writing controlled by some (definitely not all!) cocky editors, or cliquish groups. I write from my heart, not just for money. The quality of what I write is important to me.

You have so adequately expressed exactly what you need to be doing, and let me assure you, when you do everything you stated, you won't believe the degree of freedom you begin to feel by embracing your authenticity. Plus, you'll notice how people gradually begin to have a newfound respect for the writer you are. Do you Boo Boo :-)
